Helping Hands Club
Founder & Co-President: 2024-present
Coordinate volunteer needs among middle and elementary school campuses and available high school student volunteers, essentially serving as a recruiting service to connect teacher needs with available support. Volunteer needs include things like club management, in-class academic support and tutoring, Field Day support, end-of-year classroom cleanup, recycling support, bulletin board and glass display art, administrative filing and organization. Dozens of high school students go to the middle school on a weekly basis to provide support for teaching staff. Cady and her co-founder manage all service hour reporting to alleviate strain on high school teaching staff, serving as a true liaison to eliminate the need for adult management. It is marketed to high schoolers as an opportunity to earn required service hours without mandatory dues or meetings. Students sign up for one-off service opportunities based on their interests and availability.
Developed and launched a mentorship program in 2025-26 that matches high school students with 5th graders based on interests. Mentors participate in activities to create rapport among new middle school students and became points of contact and role models. Co-founders took the initial direction provided by the adult advisors and developed and manage the entire program themselves, ensuring minimal burden to teaching staff.

CREW member 2020-2024
CREW members lead worship for K-5th grades each weekend through song, dance and skits, as well as online through the church’s social media and YouTube channels. They also serve at special events catered specificially for kids. CREW Leaders manage all CREW members and logistics of each worship service, coordinate social activities, develop Bible studies and devotionals, and encourage new members, who can join as young as 6th grade. CREW Leaders are role models who exhibit positive attitude and good decisionmaking to other CREW members and the children they serve.

Assistant Coach 2025-2026
Develop and execute daily training and instruction for their assigned age group (Cady leads 9-10s). Help set the swim meet event assignments and coach swimmers on how to improve their times and technique throughout the summer league season.
Supplemental one-on-one instruction outside of scheduled practice times for things like flip turns and block starts.
Because it is summer swim league, focus is placed less on performance and more on teamwork, positive attitude and having fun. Assistant coaches are some of the most visible role models for the children, both during practices and in their free time at the community pool.
Junior Coach 2023-2024
Help team of more than 100 swimmers ages 5-18, with skills ranging from beginner to club- and competition-level swimmers.
Junior Coaches help maintain the safety of the smallest swimmers by being hands-on support in the water as well as during meets, keeping the Shrimpers (ages 6 and under) in their bullpens and at the correct blocks for events. They are also the Shrimpers’ biggest cheerleaders. Junior Coaches are active role models and critical support during large meets due to their ability to stay on task and keep children organized and ready to swim despite chaotic crowds.

Junior Leadership Program 2025-26
Learn about the Lake Norman community and its resources through a series of sessions spanning 8 months, with focus on areas of local government, education, healthcare and economic development. Participants were chosen based on strong resumes, including a minimum 3.2 unweighted GPA, demonstrated leadership in their school/community, teacher recommendation and an essay.
